Refund & Cancellation Policy
1. General Policy
Strokeandglide provides individually arranged swimming instruction services based on each customer’s requirements and the agreed service scope.
All services are operated and managed by Strokeandglide. Refund and cancellation requests are handled according to the agreed quotation, service progress and applicable consumer legislation in Singapore and the European Union.
Each customer is informed of the applicable service fees, deposit amount, outstanding balance and cancellation arrangements before confirming an order.
2. Deposit Payment Policy
Prices displayed on this website represent initial deposits only and are not the full cost of the requested service.
The service payment process is as follows:
- Quotation Request: The customer submits an enquiry to obtain a quotation.
- Consultation and Assessment: Strokeandglide discusses the customer’s requirements and confirms the proposed service arrangements.
- Deposit Payment: The customer accepts the quotation and pays the specified deposit.
- Service Delivery: The agreed swimming instruction service is arranged and carried out.
- Final Payment: The customer pays the remaining balance upon completion of the agreed service.
The deposit will be credited towards the total agreed service fee.
A deposit does not automatically become non-refundable merely because it has been paid. Refund eligibility will be determined in accordance with this policy and applicable statutory rights.
3. Customer Cancellation Requests
Customers wishing to cancel an order must submit a written request to:
Email: swim@strokeandglide.com
The request should include the customer’s name, order reference and reason for cancellation.
For cancellations received before service commencement, the refundable amount will be assessed according to the applicable withdrawal rights, the agreed terms and any work already undertaken.
For cancellations after service commencement, charges may be applied only for services already supplied and other amounts lawfully payable under the agreed terms.
Any refundable portion of the deposit will be returned following the applicable refund arrangements.
4. European Union Right of Withdrawal
Customers entering into distance service contracts within the scope of European Union consumer legislation generally have a statutory 14-day withdrawal period beginning on the date the service contract is concluded.
Customers may exercise this right without providing a reason by sending a written withdrawal request to swim@strokeandglide.com.
Where a customer expressly requests that the service begin during the withdrawal period and subsequently withdraws before completion, Strokeandglide may charge a proportionate amount for the service already provided, provided the applicable legal requirements concerning prior information and express consent have been fulfilled.
Where the service has been fully completed within the withdrawal period, the right of withdrawal may cease only after the customer has given prior express consent to early performance and acknowledged that the right of withdrawal will be lost upon full completion.
Where a valid withdrawal is exercised, eligible payments will be refunded within the statutory timeframe and using the original payment method, unless the customer expressly agrees otherwise without incurring additional charges.
5. Refunds for Uncompleted Services
If Strokeandglide is unable to deliver the agreed service, the customer will be informed of the circumstances and the available arrangements.
Depending on the situation, the customer may agree to:
- Reschedule the remaining sessions.
- Accept an alternative service arrangement.
- Receive a refund for the undelivered portion of the service.
Where a service is cancelled by Strokeandglide and no alternative arrangement is accepted, payments attributable to the undelivered service will be refunded in accordance with applicable law.
6. Missed Sessions and Rescheduling
Customers should notify Strokeandglide as early as reasonably possible when requesting a change to a confirmed appointment.
Rescheduling requests are subject to mutual agreement and available appointment times.
Where a customer fails to attend a confirmed session or cancels at short notice, the applicable cancellation terms disclosed and accepted before booking may apply.
Any amount retained for a missed or cancelled session must reflect the agreed terms and applicable legal requirements. Statutory withdrawal and refund rights remain unaffected.
7. Refund Processing
Once a refund has been approved, Strokeandglide will arrange payment through the original payment method, unless another method has been expressly agreed with the customer.
For eligible withdrawals under European Union consumer legislation, refunds will be issued within 14 days of receiving the customer’s withdrawal notification, subject to applicable statutory provisions.
For other approved refunds, processing will take place within 14 business days after confirmation of the refund amount, unless a different statutory period applies.
Customers will receive an email notification once the refund has been arranged.
8. Non-Refundable Amounts and Outstanding Payments
Amounts relating to services already properly delivered are payable in accordance with the accepted quotation and applicable law.
Where only part of the agreed service has been completed, the value of the completed portion may be deducted from the refundable amount where legally permitted.
Customers remain responsible for paying outstanding amounts relating to services already supplied.
No provision in this policy excludes or restricts any mandatory consumer rights available under applicable legislation.
