1. Introduction

Welcome to Strokeandglide. These Terms and Conditions govern access to our website, customer enquiries, quotations, swimming instruction bookings and related services.

Strokeandglide independently operates and manages all services offered through this website.

By submitting an enquiry, accepting a quotation or confirming a booking, customers agree to the applicable terms set out below.

Customers should read these terms carefully before making a payment or confirming a service arrangement.

2. Services Provided

Strokeandglide provides individually arranged swimming instruction services for customers with different experience levels and learning requirements.

Services may include:

  • Introductory swimming instruction.
  • Basic swimming skills and water familiarisation.
  • Swimming stroke practice.
  • Individual swimming lessons.
  • Structured swimming learning sessions.
  • Instruction arrangements based on individual requirements.

The exact service scope, session duration, frequency, location and other arrangements will be discussed and confirmed before the booking is accepted.

3. Enquiries and Quotations

Customers must submit an enquiry before purchasing a swimming instruction service.

The quotation process consists of the following stages:

  1. The customer submits a service enquiry.
  2. Strokeandglide communicates with the customer to understand the requested arrangements.
  3. The service requirements, proposed schedule and applicable fees are assessed.
  4. An individual quotation is issued for the customer’s review.
  5. The customer accepts the quotation and proceeds with the initial deposit payment.

Each quotation will specify the agreed service scope, total service fee, deposit amount, outstanding balance and relevant booking arrangements.

A quotation remains subject to its stated validity period and does not constitute a confirmed booking until accepted and the required deposit has been received.

4. Website Prices and Deposit Payments

All prices displayed on this website represent initial deposit amounts only. They do not represent the full cost of the requested swimming instruction service.

The payment arrangement is as follows:

  • Initial Enquiry: Customers request a quotation before confirming a service.
  • Assessment: Both parties discuss the requested arrangements and agree on the service scope.
  • Deposit: The customer pays the specified deposit after accepting the quotation.
  • Service Delivery: The agreed swimming instruction sessions are arranged and delivered.
  • Final Balance: The remaining amount is payable upon completion of the agreed service.

The deposit will be credited towards the total agreed service fee.

The outstanding balance must be paid in accordance with the accepted quotation. Customers are not required to pay additional amounts that were not agreed or properly disclosed before the relevant service was confirmed.

A booking is not considered fully paid until the total agreed fee has been settled.

5. Booking Confirmation

A booking is confirmed after:

  • The customer has accepted the written quotation.
  • The required deposit has been received.
  • The proposed service arrangements have been acknowledged by both parties.

Booking confirmations and relevant payment details will be sent to the customer’s registered email address.

Customers are responsible for checking their booking information and notifying Strokeandglide promptly if any details are incorrect.

6. Scheduling and Appointment Arrangements

Swimming instruction sessions are arranged according to the agreed schedule and available appointment times.

Customers must attend confirmed sessions at the agreed time and location.

Any request to change a session must be submitted in advance by email. Changes are subject to mutual agreement and available appointment times.

Strokeandglide may propose an alternative session where the original arrangement cannot proceed due to scheduling or operational circumstances.

Where a revised arrangement cannot be agreed, the parties may discuss cancellation and any applicable refund for the undelivered portion of the service.

7. Customer Responsibilities

Customers are responsible for:

  • Providing accurate personal and booking information.
  • Clearly communicating their swimming experience and requested learning objectives.
  • Confirming their availability before accepting a quotation.
  • Arriving at the agreed location at the scheduled time.
  • Following the applicable swimming venue rules and instructor’s reasonable instructions.
  • Informing Strokeandglide promptly of any circumstances that may affect their participation.
  • Paying the agreed service fees within the specified payment period.

Where a customer provides inaccurate information or fails to fulfil agreed responsibilities, Strokeandglide may request revised arrangements or suspend the affected session where reasonably necessary.

Any resulting charges must be consistent with the agreed terms and applicable consumer legislation.

8. Cancellations and Refunds

Customers may request cancellation by contacting:

Email: swim@strokeandglide.com

Cancellation requests should include the customer’s name, booking reference and relevant details.

Refunds will be assessed according to the stage of service delivery, the accepted quotation and applicable statutory rights.

Where services have already been provided, the corresponding agreed fees may remain payable.

Where a service has not been delivered, any refundable amount will be assessed in accordance with the applicable contractual and statutory requirements.

For European customers entering into qualifying distance service contracts, the statutory 14-day right of withdrawal will apply where required by law.

Where customers expressly request that services begin during this period, charges for services already supplied may apply in accordance with the relevant statutory requirements.

Nothing in these terms removes or restricts mandatory cancellation or refund rights.

Further information is available in our Refund and Cancellation Policy.

9. Service Changes

Any significant change to the agreed service scope, session duration, number of sessions or other booking arrangements must be discussed and accepted by both parties.

Where a requested change affects the total service fee, an updated quotation will be provided before the additional work or sessions are arranged.

No additional payment will be requested without communicating the revised charges to the customer in advance.

10. Payment Obligations

Customers agree to pay the deposit and remaining balance stated in the accepted quotation.

The initial deposit confirms the customer’s acceptance of the proposed service arrangements.

The final balance becomes payable when the agreed service has been completed.

Where an outstanding amount remains unpaid after its agreed due date, Strokeandglide may suspend further appointments or additional services until the outstanding payment is settled.

Any lawful recovery of overdue amounts will be handled in accordance with the applicable contractual and consumer protection requirements.

11. Swimming Session Conduct

Customers must follow the rules of the selected swimming venue and comply with reasonable instructions relating to the conduct of each session.

Customers must not engage in behaviour that disrupts an instruction session or interferes with other participants.

Strokeandglide may discontinue an affected session where a customer’s conduct materially prevents the agreed instruction from proceeding.

Any payment or refund adjustment arising from such circumstances will be assessed according to the services already provided, the agreed booking terms and applicable law.

12. Limitation of Liability

Strokeandglide will carry out its agreed contractual responsibilities with reasonable care and skill.

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability where such exclusion or limitation is prohibited by applicable law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.

To the extent permitted by law, Strokeandglide shall not be responsible for losses arising from circumstances beyond its reasonable control, provided that reasonable steps are taken to address the resulting disruption.

Customers remain responsible for complying with venue requirements and providing accurate information relevant to their participation.

13. Website Information

Information displayed on this website is provided to explain our swimming instruction services, enquiry arrangements and booking procedures.

Service descriptions, session arrangements and prices may be updated when business arrangements change.

The terms of an accepted individual quotation will govern the particular booking together with these Terms and Conditions, provided that they do not conflict with mandatory consumer rights.

14. Personal Information

Personal information submitted through this website is handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

Information may be used to respond to enquiries, prepare quotations, arrange swimming instruction sessions, process payments and manage customer communications.

Customers may refer to our Privacy Policy for further information concerning personal information handling.

15. Governing Law and Consumer Rights

These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of Singapore, subject to applicable mandatory consumer protection legislation.

For customers residing in European Union Member States, mandatory consumer rights under applicable European and national legislation remain unaffected.

Nothing in these terms prevents a consumer from bringing a claim before a court that has jurisdiction under applicable consumer protection legislation.

16. Amendments to These Terms

Strokeandglide may revise these Terms and Conditions when service arrangements or applicable legal requirements change.

Updated terms will be published on this website with a revised date.

Changes will not retrospectively alter an existing confirmed booking unless agreed by the parties or required by law.
